do it with thy might.."
This page is dedicated to my wonderful
husband. I am so proud
of him for risking his life for the freedoms we have in our
country today. Thank you, Steve, and to all of the men and
women who have served in all of our armed forces.

enlisted in the Navy right after graduation from high
school and left for boot camp in November, 1966 at the
United States Naval Training Center at Great Lakes,
Illinois. As Steve has always loved singing, he and
another high school friend, Jim Campbell, who had
enlisted at the same time, tried out for the Blue Jackets
Choir. They both made it and being that it was a special
company, they had to wait a while before the company was
actually filled and the training began.
the beginning of a whole new phase of Steve's life, and
he was proud to serve our country in the United States
graduation from boot camp in January, 1967, both Steve
and Jim were assigned to the USS Wexford County, LST 1168
which was located in San Diego, California.
If there is
anyone reading this who was aboard the Wexford County
during the period of 1967 thru 1970, please contact Steve HERE. He would
love to hear from you.
